Keeping Darryl Outside

Darryl is an indoor home body. We organized the shed. He dug for dinosaur bones. We played football. We kicked the soccer ball. We went inside.

I tried to make sugar cookies with him but we had no flour. Isadora had made noodles the other night.

Isadora cleaned out the refrigerator before she went grocery shopping. I decided to make a wine sauce with the remaining vegetables in the crisper and the half empty wine bottles. I roasted the onions, garlic, celery, tomatoes, potatoes and egg plant in the oven. When the vegetables started to turn a golden brown on the edges, I removed the lecrousee pan from the oven and scooped the vegetables into a boiling pot of wine.

The whole house smells like wine sauce.
