Performance Review show down

So, on Friday. I had it out with my manager regarding my performance review. He wanted us to submit 4 things we did well and 4 things we could have done better.

My 4 things were pretty brutal but true. He did not like them because his director would surely to God question his competence and not mine.

I tamed them down. But I think he realizes that after this project....I am going to another group.

1) Accomplishments (Please list 4 major accomplishments that you did well- more if you like

- I gained the trust and respect of the business community by demonstrating my competence in resolving issues, bringing users together to resolve business problems and developing solutions.
- I pushed the project forward despite the lack of resources by hounding and keeping track of items that needed to be resolved.
- I saved the company $2 million in future project costs by learning how to configure the vendor software and model the crude oil business in the application.
- I completed an intense external audit, while managing the project.
- I setup a project website that contains all issues, tasks and documentation related to the project. There are over 2500 documents that I authored in a 2 year span.
- I recognized that the consultants did not understand the business or the application and took it upon myself to learn both in order to move the project forward.
- I coordinated and documented the cleansing of 80% of the referential data required for Vendor software
- I regression tested the application to make sure that the data was migrated properly and that the application was configured correctly.
- I wrote the first draft for the Delphi integration
- I wrote the first draft of the accounting to vendor integration

2)What could you have handled better or improved on?

- I NEED TO MANAGE UP.
- I have been doing software projects since 1994. I should have followed my gut and experience.
- I should have refused to start the project with the resources that were assigned to me by my company and the vendor.
- I should have just done the application migration and configuration myself.
- I should have spoken up about how the company assigned resources were too busy on other projects/support tasks.
