A casualty of the layoff was Abdula. I feel bad for him. He is not a very intelligent person. This morning he was coming down and keeping us informed of who was getting laid off. We all stared at him like...uh, Dude...you are probably next.
We had our daily project meeting. Abdula's director came down and pulled him out of the meeting. He left his notepad in the meeting. He came back in and grabbed his notepad with the look of death on his face. He knew what was coming next.
Then he came back one more time looking for my manager.
Abdula also stole his laptop. He doesn't get his severance pay unless he brings back the laptop.
Abdula was the person that recommended me for the job at this company. He thought he was going to get a recruitment bonus. I owe him though.
When we was going to get laid off the first time, I allowed him to be on the project without a fuss and took care of him. I recognized his limitations.
